Nero Asibelua Foundation Takes Love to The Home Of Destitute.

LAGOS – FEBRUARY, SATURDAY 27TH 2016 - On Saturday 13th of February, 2016, when most people were caught up in the mood of celebrating the season of love and sharing the joy of the season with their loved ones, NERO ASIBELUA FOUNDATION (NAF) opt to have a sacrificial weekend of showing love to those who have no loved ones to show them the love of the season. NAF gave joy to over 2, 000 residents of the destitute home situated at Oko Baba, Ebute Meta, Lagos.

The destitute home was built during the regime of the former Head of State General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in the 1990’s. It is popular among the cripple, blind, deaf, dumb, young and old people. These people beg for alms, aids and funds for personal or general upkeep of their needs.

The Love Outreach event kept the NAF team in the community for about an hour. But to the destitutes, it seemed a lifetime as they conspicuously beamed with joy and happiness. The presence of cheerful looking people visiting them with relief materials of food, clothes and water could not have been an everyday affair. Speaking at the event, the Director of the foundation, Mrs Vivian Asibelua encouraged them to keep their hopes alive and trust in God as she made the presentation of the relief items. The items were received by the Sarki of the Home.

NAF’s founder Mr. Nero Asibelua has over the years, shown great commitment to the cause of charity –supporting widows and widowers, awarding scholarships to deserving students and expending his resources on humanity. He has always reiterated how love could be the major virtue we need to move our society forward. He is fond of comments like;

“Let no body undermine his or her fellow human, let’s support one another with love. It’s only with love that we can progress.”

It is on this ideal of LOVE that the various outreach projects of Nero Asibelua Foundation is predicated. This has now extended to the children and adults of the Oko Baba’s Home of Destitutes, Ebute Meta, Lagos.

After the presentation of the relief items, the leaders of the home prayed for the foundation and for the NAF team. The children also beamed with joy for their new cloths and the other items. From their demeanors you can tell that they sure will live to savour the experience in a long time to come.

NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE FROM, THEIR DREAMS ARE VALID
