National Call for Climate Action in the Aviation Industry in Nigeria
NIGERIA – FRIDAY, 4TH MARCH, 2016 - In a spirit of international collaboration, Climate Change Network Nigeria (CCN-Nigeria) and its over 160 diverse civil society organizations as well as its global Partners deemed it appropriate to follow up on the last December’s Paris climate Agreement, which, among other things, set a new global ambition to aim to limit global warming to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels. The next global moment to act on climate change will be this October, when the UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will decide at its Assembly on proposals for a global market-based measure (GMBM) to address carbon emissions from international flights. We urge you to continue to actively promote strong international ambition on tackling climate change in the lead up to this meeting.
Please do circulate this mail in organizations, groups and network for more CSO stakeholders sign-on.
